Cat Tower – A Review

My mom used to say that every cat owner has a story. The stuff my crazy cats do could write a novel! If they could breed a cat with a monkey I think it would get close to doing what mine do. After constantly dealing with them running, climbing, and LEAPING off of all my furniture I knew it was time to get them something of their own to conquer. The best cat tree I found was the Go Pet club line of Cat Tree Furniture.

The cat tree has five carpeted posts wound with rope for scratching purposes. There is a cat condo in the middle with two entrances and a set of stairs that can be moved to multiple locations. The top two posts have a perch shelf on top. Attached to each shelf is a hanging toy bird for them to swat at.

I found the best place to locate the cat tower was in a corner near a window. Having two walls to support the furniture helped stabilize it when the cats were both chasing each other around the unit.

The overall size of this furniture is not huge so it may not be a perfect fit for very large cats but it should be suitable for most.

I have been experimenting with various modifications to the furniture. I installed a cat hammock between two of the posts and they seem to love lying in that to look out the window. I also have attached some of their favorite toys to the unit for added enjoyment. They have a toy mouse that looks very realistic. I attached a long string to the mouse and weaved it through the different areas of the furniture. Sitting on the couch, I could pull the string to make the mouse move and the cats would go nuts trying to catch it. LOL

If you are looking for a quality built, versatile, and affordable cat tower, give the Go Pet Club Cat Tree Furniture a shot. Like me, you may have just saved your other furniture from cat abuse!

Cat Climbing Tree – Sizing and Installation

This cat climbing tree overall size is 21″W x 21″L x 52″H. The base is 19″W x 19″L. It has two cat perch and five scratching post total. The cat scratch is a rope like material and the carpet around the rest of the cat tower feels softer than your typical carpet. I liked this as it motivated them to scratch the rope instead of the softer material.

Installation was fairly straight forward. All the items came pre cut and finished so it was just a matter of screwing each cat post into the slot set up for it on the cat furniture. It may seem a little wobbly at first but once you get everything put together and tightened it should steady up and balance. I put mine in a corner near a window and had no trouble at all.

The great thing is that I wasn’t limited to how it was put together. First I set it up on our enclosed porch but my wife didn’t like the location. When I set up in our front room, the ladder portion was not in the ideal location so I just took out the screw and moved it to the other side. Also, you have the option of not putting in the upper posts without sacrificing stability if height is an issue.

Cat Tower – Where are the reviews?

I love my cats. I really do…but I don’t love when they are running and jumping off my furniture and drapes. I knew I needed to find a solution to get them their own cat climbing tower or cat tree house. This cat furniture needed to have several beams designed as a cat scratching post as well. I also had a secondary goal of making sure it was stable and could support a cat hammock and cat shelves I already owned.

What I didn’t realize when I started looking online was all the bad options out there. There wasn’t many quality reviews and the ones I did find were on manufacturer’s websites which I frankly do not trust. Because of this I decided to write my own review of what I decided on going with for a cat tower, the Cat Tree Furniture by Go Pet Club.
